Tensor Pond Vacuums Make Cleaning Garden Fish
Ponds Easy & Convenient
So you want a cleaner, clearer pond? ... Of
course you do. Then make it easy on yourself. Treat
yourself to a pond vacuum cleaner.
All garden fish ponds accumulate debris on the
bottom. This unsightly mess comes from windborne
dust, leaves, garden run off and fish faeces. Any
food that remains uneaten also finds its way to the
pond bottom. This latter source can be reduced
enormously by feeding high quality
low ash floating pond food pellets and by making
sure you do not overfeed your fish (one of the
leading causes of all pond problems).
In large koi ponds expensive bottom drain
systems allow continuous removal of pond bottom muck
but for the more normal small to medium sized garden
fish ponds the pond vacuum (often called pond-vac or
pondvacs) is perfect. They are used like indoor
carpet vacuums and they pick up sludge, silt and
dead vegetation by suction or vacuum.
Bradshaws carry a complete range of pond vacuums
from Oase, Gardena and others. Their top seller is
the Tensor low cost pond vacuum
Tensor Pond Vacuum ... made in the UK for
British ponds
You simply attach the Tensor pond vacuum to your
garden hose pipe. After turning the tap on the flow
of water through the pipe and pond vacuum head
creates a vacuum based on the venturi principle.
Water is forced through a narrow opening which
causes pressure in this venturi throat to be reduced
and in turn this allows pond water to be sucked into
the water flow from the tap forcing the dirty and
clean water mix into the muslin bag. The re-usable
muslin bag is where the solids are filtered out and
the water flows back into the pond through the
porous muslin. The solids collected should be spread
on the garden and used as fertiliser.
Take a look at the image and you'll notice how
the head which is attached to a long telescopic
aluminum lightweight pole is able to be wheeled
along the pond bottom to make coverage easy and note
also how the blue coloured hose pipe enters the
suction head of the Tensor pond vacuum unit at a
point where a venturi is situated and this is what
causes the vacuum to be created. The head is also
fitted with a small brush to help cleaning of the
pond bottom.
The Tensor pond vacuum comes with a
3 years
guarantee .
